From scooting to crawling

Zoe began scooting around 7 and half months. She's just now turned 9 months and last week finally figured out that she could do more than just rock on her hands and knees and do the military crawl dragging herself about. She absolutely just took off one day. Take a look at the progress...funny transition.

This is somewhat of a cross between a military crawl with swimming legs. Too funny.




Straight to this one day. In fact, this was the first day she finally learned to move her legs and arms together in synch. Amazing how fast they catch on once something clicks.

Well (sniff sniff), she's 9 months old now

On Friday, our little "sugar bug" (as I call her - and as I look at that name, I wonder why?) turned 9 months old. For you veteran parents, that may not seem like a huge deal, but just before she was nine months she was making HUGE strides towards independence...like crawling, pulling up, standing, cruising, etc. etc. etc. I do have some new pictures, but I wanted to post some videos of the funny moments and the new milestones. Some were literally taken upon the first moments of her doing something new. Take a look...there were so many it was hard to weed through them all.

Photography Session

I love taking pictures...can you tell?? I was trying to think of a way to incorporate all of Zoe's handmade blankets into a photo session. I see this all the time in professional photo studios. And I've been challenged lately to try to recreate some of what I see with those. So here's what I got. Oh yeah...I used

a mirror in some too. Those didn't turn out as well as I had hoped for, but they're kinda cute nonetheless.

On the move....

Things aren't so easy now that we have a mobile baby. She's scooting/crawling everywhere, and trying to walk at the same time. She'll pull up, or make a valient attempt, on whatever is around her...the couch, table, dog, mom or dad's leg. She doesn't want to sit much anymore. She wants to hold onto our fingers and walk everywhere. If I try to put her in a sitting position, she'll lock her body so that she ends up straight all the way down.

Over spring break, she just had a wave of learning going on. She was learning to go from sitting to belly and vice versa...learning to crawl...learning to cruise...learning to pull up....learning new words and phrases like "Jedi", "bye bye, daddy", "all done" (or a baby version of that...more like "adon"), etc. I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the newness that was happening.
