Beth Moore

Last weekend was my first-ever experience at a Beth Moore conference.  She came to Little Rock - first time back in about 6 or 7 years.  It was an amazing experience that can only be explained by attending one yourself.  The atmosphere produced by almost 10,000 women filled with the Spirit is just astounding.  Beth, who is actually born and raised in Arkadelphia, is a dynamic speaker...one who is obviously passionate about the Lord and about being a vessel for Him.  She posed thoughts and questions that I have been dwelling on all week.

These are the girls I rode with and roomed with.  Great group of ladies!

This is how close we were  - not too bad at all.

A picture of Beth herself.  My camera has a great zoom!

A little over 20 women from our church attended this conference.  For a group of women in our church that is just a little over 100, that was a huge number of ladies who went.  We had about 7 or 8 rooms blocked off, and each room was taken and filled. I had hoped to see more of these ladies throughout the weekend, but with the frenzy of the event, we hardly saw anyone except those who you were rooming with.

Check this out!!  This is during worship time when the band (accept for one guy) completely cut out and just left the room of almost 10,000 women singing.  What an amazing moment!

Flashback

Last year about this time, Ethan was just learning how to walk.  We were watching some of his old videos the other day, and he took a liking to this one.  In fact, he thought it was downright hilarious and wanted me to play it over and over again so he could laugh at himself when he would fall down.

Ever so close!

Well, this is late too - like almost a half month late.  Ethan is now 23.5 months!  Two more weeks until he's TWO!  TWO YEARS OLD!  Where has the time gone!?!?  Seriously.

So, Ethan, here's what you've been up to lately:

*You wear size 24 month and 2T clothes and size 6 shoes.  You still weigh only 25 pounds which means you've only gained 4-5 pounds all year long.  We'll find out your percentages in a couple of weeks.

*You know all of your colors, shapes, and ABC's.

*You like to count to 20, but you count "....18, 19, and 100!!".  Somehow you missed the fact that 20 comes after 19.

*You love to sing Jesus Loves Me and Jesus Loves the Little Children

*You are definitely in the "terrible two stage", though it is much different than Zoe's terrible two's.  Yours is less drama and more outbursts.  You are a happy little guy, but when you're mad, everyone knows it...ie everyone in the store when you decide to throw your little tantrum.

*You refuse to sleep in your twin bed.  You prefer the floor.  I'll never understand why, son.  It's so hard!

*You still aren't sleeping as well as you were 6 weeks ago, but you are improving.  Normally we'll have 3 or 4 good nights and a bad night.  The bad nights are quite rough...you're awake for hours on end.  You decided to sleep one night from 8PM until 11PM and then stay awake for the rest of the night.  You, my friend, are headed to a sleep clinic at Children's in a month to figure out why you won't sleep.  Hopefully they can find a problem and fix it.

*You love to be outdoors and always have something in your hand - rocks, leaves, grass, dirt, all of the above.  I'm just waiting for the day when you pick up a frog and come show it to me.

*Your great eating habits lasted all of a couple of weeks.  You are back to not eating meat.  You eat pasta now, but still not much meat.  Not sure why.  :(

*You think your big sister has just hung the moon and want to do everything she is doing - including playing princess when she wants to...or playing dress up, dressing up in crowns and high heels.

*You have gained one more tooth - soon to be two.  They've given you fits!  And there's still 6 more left before you're all done.  (Sigh)

*You are just a goofy kid...learning so much everyday.  You love to wrestle and laugh.  You love to be outdoors.

Love you, kiddo!

I hear wedding bells!

So this is like a month late too...but better late than never, I suppose.  My "baby" brother got married on March 12th this year.  It was such a proud moment for him..and for us.  My own babies got to be the ring bearer and the flower girl.  Such a terrifying thing for a momma, but such a sweet moment.

Ethan made it down the aisle...running, but he made it.  And Zoe almost pulled a repeat of the little flower girl at our wedding.  She realized she was out of flowers by the time she made it down the aisle and almost started picking them up.  Had I not been there to intercept her, I think she might have.  :)

I can't believe Paul is married, but I know that we have gained a great new family member.

Just a tad bit behind

So I've not really been up to date with my posts lately.  Time just slips away when your son still won't sleep at night.  He's doing better, but we're headed to a sleep clinic on May 24th.  Something is still waking him up some nights and some he just doesn't want to go back to sleep.  So on some days tired doesn't even begin to describe how we feel.

That being said, here are a few pictures of the last couple of weeks in the Buscher household.

Now that's love!

My son...except for the occasional moment where he likes to play princess and dress up, is all boy.  As if these pictures don't spell all boy.  This is how he "shows love" to his older sister...by taking her down and sitting on her.  Sometimes even on her head.  And she, you can see, loves every minute of it.
