4th of July fun

As a family, we normally go up to Illinois to see Darin's parents and brothers (and their families) over the 4th. This year, that was pushed back a few weeks, so we stayed close to home. It was nice just to be able to relax with a few friends and let our kiddos play and have a good time.

The lake puts on a fireworks display, although I must say that it's a pretty sad one. We shyed away from staying at the lake all day with a 2 year old and a 2 month old...just didn't seem wise to do. Zoe's afraid of loud noises anyway - all loud noises equate to "funder" (thunder) in her book, and she strongly dislikes them.

Look at this cutie!

And this cutie sitting with the other cutie!

So the day consisted of spending time with some friends of ours, cooking out, and letting the kids swim while we just visited.

The kiddos spent the latter part of the afternoon doing this.

Just relaxing!

How sweet is this?? Picture perfect!

Munching on edible sparklers.

Having fun on the slide.

Loving jumping on the side of the pool.

Playing peek-a-boo

While the babies did this...

Couldn't have been better!

But - since we didn't see a fireworks show like we have in years past, I pulled out some pictures I took last year to put on here for your viewing pleasure.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!
