The adventures of tool boy and tool dad

So we got our new elliptical shipped to us today.  SO EXCITED!

Darin is my handyman around the house, and I've learned that as long as I can keep the kids away from him, he's fine putting together this kind of stuff alone. He had almost gotten done putting it together when Ethan toddled in to see what he was up to.  Anytime Ethan sees tools, he IMMEDIATELY walks over to "help" Darin in whatever he's working on.  Some sort of man bond they have between the two of them, I suppose.

Ethan got this plush baby tool set, so he went to get that and used his tools on the one side while Darin worked on the other.  He eventually made his way to where Darin was and graduated from the plush tools to trying to use the real tools (smaller tools like an allen wrench or something) to try to help.  His toys just weren't cutting it.  The moment was just too priceless to not grab the camera.

Can't you just see his thought process? "Geez, mom! You're impeding my progress!"

  1. This is just too funny for words. Glad Darin is a patient man...
