Two more months!

Two more months until the official start of the "terrible two's" stage. Technically, I think we've been in it now for about a month.  Lot's of "no!!"  after being asked to do something and "I don't want to.", and "I don't like it!" in regards to food, and...and...and...   But overall, he's still a good little guy, mostly obedient and compliant.  The headbutting, I thought had officially stopped, until today when his ear infection and cutting of the canine teeth proved too much for him to handle and led to a butt an anger butt.  So two - here we come! We're ready....bring it.  :)

So Ethan, at 22 months old, you:

*Are most definitely running...everywhere.  And most of the time, it's accompanied by an "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" as you circle the house over, and over, and over again. :)

*Are trying to drink from a "careful cup" as Zoe calls it.  You see her doing it and want to dispose of your sippy if you have the opportunity to dring from a big cup.

*Have finally turned a corner with eating.  You eat with no hesitations at night.  You even eat soup!

*You got your first big boy haircut early this week.  I have always cut your hair, and you have always...well, almost always let me do it without problem.  But you are in your uncle's wedding in a week and we wanted to make sure you had a good cut from a professional.  So I forked out the $10 and went to get it cut.  This is the result.  Cute, huh?  (and no, that's not a giant bruise on your head...just a shadow).

*You are starting to potty train.  We discovered that by letting you go with no diaper or anything on, you will hold it and beg for a diaper.  Maybe that's a good start.  Now that it's warming up, you're about to have a whole lot more "freedom" if you know what I mean.  I hear that works well for little boys...but we'll see.

*You wear size 24 months and 2T clothes, though you still can fit into your 18 month clothes.  You are finally catching up a little bit in height and growing into that long torso of yours.

*You love the outdoors and want to go outside, even if it's dark. Good thing daylight savings time is about to end.

*You are talking in full conversations now.  In fact, you just had one with your sister that sounded like this:  "Don't you eat that, Zoe. Don't you do it!  Don't eat it.  Ooohhhh...you ate it.  Good job, Zoe!  Good job!"
You respond well to us doing that to you when you eat at night.  Hey - it works!  We'll get away with it as long as we can.  ;)

*You are sitting in a big boy booster seat now and you're so proud of your "new big seat" as you call it...well, it's still a 5 point harness that will fit you up to 40 pounds, which at this rate will take you another 6 years to reach (You're gained only about 4 pounds in your second year of life!), but it's a harness that can be transfered into a booster a few years from now.  No more carseat for Ethan.

Until next month.....
